MidADdle entered the ad network scene featuring only one ad format - interstitials. However, they claim that this specialization allows them to focus on the needs of publishers, offer the best rates on the market and provide quality customer support.
Their interstitial ads are nicely designed, generally appear only once per session and, most importantly - are accurately counted and credited. The difference between the counter that I installed on pages that display MidADdle interstitials and their own reports of the number of interstitials displayed was no more than 3-4%. A noteworthy feature is the progress bar on the top of the ad, which while deceptive (it claims to be downloading the target page) is a nice way to keep the visitor from leaving.
Their ad code is pretty versatile: you can (1) display interstitials on entrance; (2) only on sub pages and external links; or (3) display them in an exit pop when a visitor leaves your site.
Now, lets talk about the money. MidADdle's payout scheme is based on a CPM fee. MidADdle pays 65% - in our case that amounted to $3.25 net CPM. While their different campaigns have different rates, with some campaigns paying whopping $20 gross CPM, we haven't seen a single impression of those so far - all campaigns displayed on our sites paid $5 gross CPM - hence the $3.25 net figure. According to other webmasters who use MidADdle on their sites, that rate is prevalent. Folks at MidADdle promise to increase their rates to the effect of $5 net CPM and higher fairly soon. At $5 net CPM, they would indeed become the highest-paying interstitial ad network.
The statistics interface is clean and informative: a graphical display of daily and monthly earnings, a campaign management tool that lets you opt-in campaigns individually or by category. Unfortunately, there is no multiple site support at this time, so you would have to create separate accounts for separate sites, however, MidADdle plans to implement multi-site support shortly.
MidADdle customer support is great. My questions to them were answered on the same day. Their representative contacted me the next day after I signed up to find out whether I needed any help implementing the tags. Overall, they are pretty responsive to questions and suggestions and do not shun individual approach.
Their minimum payment is $50, and, they give you an option to receive it either via check or PayPal. There is no referral program - yet, but we were told that it is pretty high on their priority list, so stay tuned.
Overall, MidADdle seems like it is poised to become one of the leading ad networks in its niche, which is, for those who weren't paying attention so far, interstitials. Their payout rate is decent, their reporting is accurate, and their customer support is great.
